Directions to The Rhododendron at Glade

1. From I 77 coming from South Take Ghent - Flat Top exit 28 and go right at the bottom of the ramp. After ¼ mile go left at the three way intersection. (see sign, Glade Springs 7.8 miles). The Glade Springs entrance is about ¼ miles after Daniels sign.



2. From I 77 coming from North Follow I 64 East towards Lewisburg. Take exit 125A (Beaver exit) onto Route 307 West. Go 2.5 miles to intersection and turn left onto Route 19 South. Go 2.8 miles and the entrance to glade Springs is on your left.



3. From I 64 Take exit 129 (Shady Spring, Grandview road Exit.) Turn left onto route 9 South, Shady Spring. Go 4.2 miles to intersection and turn left onto Route 19 South. Go 0.3 miles. Glade Springs is on your left.



4. Inside Glade Springs After you pass the security gate of Glade Springs, follow the road. About 0.4 miles after the lake, turn right on Glen Orchard. Then second right on Glen Garden and second right on Montgomery Lane. The Rhododendron is over the hill to your left.

Directions to the Retreat at Pipestem

Retreat at Pipestem is located adjacent to Pipestem State Park and Resort and therefore is very easy to find, just by following the signs leading to the State Park, which are posted at the Interstates.

From I-77
Take Athens exit 14 to Rte 20 and go North to Pipestem State Park. At the entrance, turn into the Park. Follow the road for a few miles and turn right following a sign for cottage 14-26. (This is when you see McKeever Lodge on your left.) After about 150 yards, take a left following the golf course. After about ½ mile, you leave the park. Take an immediate left. (sign Pipestem Point.) Follow the road for about 1/2 mile and you will see the sign of The Retreat at Pipestem on your left.

From I-64 Take Sandstone exit 139 to rte 20 South to Pipestem State Park. At the entrance turn into the Park. Follow the road for a few miles and turn right following a sign for cottage 14-26. (sign Pipestem point) Follow the road for about 1/2 mile and you will see the sign of The Retreat at Pipestem on your left.

Navigation systems.
The Retreat at Pipestem sits on an old logging road. This road comes up in some navigation systems as Pipestream Point Road and in others as Fairway Drive. When using Fairway Drive, make sure you also type in Pipestem as a few miles away in Lerona, there is another Fairway Drive. The road does not have numbers, but as there are only a few house, the Retreat is easy to find.



Directions to Pipestem Place

Pipestem Place, while situated on Route 20 is easy to miss as it sits back quite a bit from the road.

Coming from Hinton / I-64
Take Sandstone exit 139 to rte 20 South to Pipestem State Park. You will come through Hinton. Once you pass the main entrance to Pipestem State Park, you need to start watching as shortly afterward you will see a sign to your right, mentioning Pipestem Place and the Retreat at Pipestem. About 1000 feet after this sign you will see a house on your right next to the road. (This is the only house close to the road between the park and Pipestem Place) About 100 feet after this house, there is a driveway on your right. Please take this driveway and after about 700 feet, you will see the two cabins.

Coming from Princeton / I-77 Take Athens exit 14 to Rte 20 and go North to Pipestem State Park. (Signs Pipestem State Park) Follow route 20 till you are almost at the park entrance. Watch for a 8 feet x 12 feet sign on your left, indicating Pipestem Place and the Retreat at Pipestem. Turn left immediately after this sign into a gravel driveway which will lead you to the cabins. As it is easy to miss, you might want to drive on to the park entrance, turn around and follow the directions as if you are coming from Hinton.
